Recovered Porn Addict makes a difference

(2007 News Clip)

Back in 2007 Minister RMB a recovered porn addict since 2003 was going out into the community to preach against porn.  After being married to a porn addict I find this very fascinating and it makes me want to help other wives/girlfriends of porn addicts.  I knew in the Christian community Porn is something that isn't openly talked about.  They preach about it at church as it being evil one a year or ever few years, but other that that it's a very hush hush subject. After my experience I wish it were something more openly discussed.

There are not a lot of assistance for partners of porn addicts like there are for partners of alcoholics.  Which really is a shame because Porn is a very wide spread issues and there are a lot of partners of addicts that are suffering alone.  LifeStar is a good resource  for Partners of Addict.  They also have a good program for addicts, but like any addiction unless you want to give it up and change there is no point in wasting your money going to a recovery group.

I really hope Minister RMB hasn't fallen back into his addiction and is still motivating other to give it up.  I wish I could go around with him  and talk to the partners of addicts and let them know they aren't alone.

If anyone has any ideas on how I can be of service to other partners of porn addicts please let me know.

My advice to anyone considering a relationship with an addict of any kind is RUN far away and don't come back until they are well recovered.  Promise to change is not enough, if they have failed to change in the past on their own they will not change now. Addicts need professional help to not only give up their addiction, but to make a lifestyle change.  I wish my friend would have said that.  I was ignorant of the damaging effects a Porn addiction has on one's entire being. Now I know it has nothting to do with the chosen vice persay, it's more about the destructiveness of being an addict.
